BMW Motorcycles of Utah was created in 2009 to serve the Salt Lake City and Park City areas. Along the way between then and now something wonderful happened. We are now serving satisfied riders from everywhere in the state, including major cities and all rural areas and also in surrounding states including Idaho, Nevada, Wyoming, Colorado, New Mexico, and Arizona. In fact, since starting our motorcycle rental program at the dealership we now have smiling customers worldwide.
Our staff is the best of the best. Our facilities are state of the art. And our focus on customer satisfaction will exceed your expectations. From the day we opened our doors for business we set exceptionally high standards and we will not settle for anything less. Our entire staff, from the owners to the managers to the behind-the-scene support personnel, realizes you have choices of where to go and we will continuously strive to exceed your expectations in all aspects of our business.
Being a BMW Motorrad dealership we feature BMW motorcycles but we also have other marquees for you to look at in both new and previously-owned models. We are an authorized BMW dealer. That means BMW has authorized us, has approved us, to represent BMW. This means we stock a complete line of the BMW models, and have a well-stocked parts department as well as all the latest BMW riding apparel. Because we are an authorized BMW dealership, all of our technicians are BMW Certified in all facets of taking care of your motorcycle, and two of our technicians are Master Certified by BMW. Plus, only authorized dealerships have all of the latest electronic tools and service procedures from BMW needed to diagnose and maintain the proper condition of your motorcycle.
The skill-set of our staff far exceeds that of a run-of-the-mill motorcycle shop. Because we are an authorized BMW dealer, all of our staff is trained by BMW in the various aspects of their positions. For example, our Service Manager & Service Advisors have attended many hours of training provided by BMW and are Certified by BMW in that field; our Parts Manager has taken an extensive list of BMW courses and is Certified in Parts & Apparel. The same is true of our sales staff and the financial support staff. Only at an authorized BMW dealership will you find technicians that have the most current BMW provided training. We pride ourselves in staying current on all the newest and latest from BMW so that we can serve our customers the best way possible.
Clearly the people make any organization and our staff has been and will continue to be the key to our success. This professional attitude permeates the entire operation; you can feel it, see it and hear it when you come in for any reason. We have been told many times that it is obvious that our staff is here because we want to be here, not because we have to show up each day.
The founding partners to this business are committed to long-term success and set a constant example of that striving. Vance Harrison is the co-owner who handles the daily senior administration of the business and is a hands-on business owner. Vance most recently was general manager of two Utah based Land Rover dealerships, and has expanded that experience to now include Harrison Imports and of course this BMW dealership. Over the years Vance has earned a sterling reputation and worked with thousands of satisfied customers. He is an avid outdoorsman and can be found riding, boating or fishing when not working. You will also find that Vance is always smiling.
Our general manager, Mike Uchitel, is also one of our best sales people. Mike does not want or need a fancy office to work from and can be found either on the sales floor talking to customers or walking around making sure things are working smoothly in one of the operational departments. Like a lot of dealerships, ours is segmented into three departments. The Sales Department is headed up by Mike with Renn Charlesworth being the senior person. The Service Department is managed by Andy Grover. The Parts Department is managed by Ryan Stanley. There is support staff for all of these including the finance manager who assists sales and also handles many of the business operational details of day-to-day operations; the senior accountant who makes sure the business stays on an even keel; the technicians in the service shop; the fellow who makes sure your bike is clean and ready to ride when you pick it up from service, and so on. Most of these people are listed elsewhere on this website under the Meet the Team tab.
Our dealership has managed to attract the best of the best in the motorcycle community. This assures you that when you talk to a sales person about a new or pre-owned motorcycle you are getting their years of experience to help answer your questions and guide you to a ride best suited to your needs. The same is true when you talk to one of our service advisors; they can take care of your maintenance, repair or special service needs with years of experience behind them. And when you visit our parts department for anything for your motorcycle or apparel for yourself, they know what they are talking about and thus assure you that you are getting the best advice and correct items.
In addition to being true professionals in their fields, our staff is well versed in all facets of our dealership business. When you purchase a motorcycle and you want to add some accessories, sales staff knows the parts side of the business well enough that they can take care of your needs and coordinate the order with the parts department. When you come in for service, the staff there has the tools at hand to identify the parts you need and make sure the technicians in the service shop have those parts when your work is scheduled. It is all well orchestrated and transparent to our customers. What is visible to the customer is smoothness of the transactions and exceptionally high quality of the finished work.
Perhaps one of the most important traits of our staff, which directly impacts our operation and how we relate to you our customer, is that we are all serious motorcycle riders. Some are street riders, others live for long weekends to do touring, a few are skilled canyon carvers, and others love riding dirt. This constant involvement in the motorsports world helps us related to you our fellow riders, and ensures you a fantastic and satisfying experience regardless of why you visited us.
Please stop by whenever you can. We look forward to meeting you for the first time or seeing you for the hundredth time, taking care of whatever your motorcycle needs may be, and introducing you to our staff.
